Esat Hâl Art Gallery is the art-focused space of the former Esat Neighborhood Market and Bazaar, built in the 1980s and brought back into Ankara’s urban life in 2026 following its renovation.
Remaining under public ownership while providing significant space for cultural producers and civil society in its management and use, Esat Hâl introduces a hybrid “commons” model to the heart of Ankara. With a total construction area of 14,250 square meters and 4,600 square meters of indoor space, the complex has evolved beyond a traditional marketplace into a vibrant ecosystem where cultural and artistic communities, local producers, and neighborhood residents come together.
The art gallery forms part of this new cultural meeting place alongside youth, library, gastronomy, and local production spaces.
